2016 Honda HR-V Overview
New cars are not a unusual things as many car makers can discontinue a vehicle or add something new to the list of vehicles they have. The 2016 Honda HR-V is new for the year and is one of the more unique vehicles. This is because it is described as a compact crossover making it smaller than crossovers, but a little taller than a sedan. There is a lot to this vehicle including quality fuel economy, many outstanding and advanced features, and plenty of room for the stuff that matters most.
The design is unique in many different ways as the rear door handles are strategically hidden to help it look more like an SUV coupe. But the handle is by the window. That is a unique design feature that makes the HR-V even sleeker. It also features LED brake lights to help increase your visibility. The unique crossover keeps things going with the addition of heated side mirrors and roof rails for added looks and to help store extra cargo.
2016 Honda HR-V Cargo
Of course, the biggest thing about it is how much more space it can have even though it is smaller than a crossover. There is a total of 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded giving you plenty of room for your cargo. The inside of the vehicle is very versatile allowing you to have space for things you would not think of like bikes, chairs, and more. You can even fold down the passenger seat and the rear seats to activate long mode for the things that are up to eight feet long. You can even lift the bottom of the rear seats up to give you more space for taller things up to four feet.
The performance on the HR-V is everything you need to get around with ease and even offers some ways to maintain the best efficiency. It has a 4-cylinder engine that can get up to 141 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque. There are also multiple transmissions to choose from including a 6-speed manual transmission that is on the 2WD model and there is a CVT with Sport Mode or Dual-Mode paddle shifters. These transmissions make the drive either more fun or with better control and smooth handling.

The CVT model also has an ECON button on the Eco Assist System to help maintain the best possible efficiency when you need it. Just press the button to switch over. You can get the HR-V in a 2WD or an AWD model and AWD allows the vehicle to get around with ease even through snow and rain as it maintains traction. Power is sent to every wheel in order to get the best possible traction available. Hill Start Assist adds to the features by keeping brakes applied when you are on a hill and switching over the gas pedal.
One of the biggest features of the HR-V is that it comes a nice 7-inch touch screen which makes it easy to access your music, phone, available navigation, apps, and more. You can connect your devices to it to play music and it also has Bluetooth so you can make hands free calls. This HondaLink system is the top feature available. It can also come installed with smart entry on select trims so you can leave your keys in your pocket. If you upgrade to the EX and EX-L Navi trim you can also get a premium sound system that includes 6 speakers and 180 watts.
Like most Honda vehicles. Safety is very important. It comes with many standard features as well as possible advanced features to help prevent collisions. There is Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control to help adjust brake pressure and engine power overall. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System helps keep on the pressure in your tires and warns you if they are getting too low.
